Today I woke up and I really didn’t wanna get out of bed. I was not motivated to get up and get ready for work. I thought I’m so sore from the training, I deserve a hooky day. But as usual I bucked up and got ready and headed to work.
Its funny how easy doing something is? You want to do it so you just do it.
Laurie and I have signed up with our good friends Jason and Liz to run in a race called the Mud Run. Liz helped us put together a training schedule that will help prepare us for the run. Neither one of us is in that great of shape even though we want to get in good shape we tend to procrastinate a lot. We have been working harder and we are determined to make this happen.
Saturday we ran 3 1/2 miles. I ran I would say maybe 1/2 of it and walked the rest. It is now Monday and I am so sore. Today I am going to push myself and get a 1/2 hr run in along with a nice weight lifting regiment.
In life we have so many things we hold close and love. We also all have many goals that a lot of times we don’t focus on. Is it possible? To do something you have never done before? To break the mold and jump ship from old habits?
The power we have in our own soul and mind is so great that we miss it. Have you even heard the saying? “If it was a snake it would have bit me” This is how our god given power is. The power to be anything we want. To be in any mood we want at any given time.
Think about how you can improve yourself today. Make a goal. Use that power you have. We can do anything we want with our conviction and our determination.
My goal for this week is to have an amazing week and to learn something new about myself.
Please post your thoughts and goals. Anything you have on your mind.
Mike

Bro… I know EXACTLY how you feel. I ran 5.1 miles last night after we got home from your place. I’m so damn sore that I can’t stand it! But… I still got my ass up and went to work. And tomorrow… even if I’m still sore… I still have to go run at least 2 miles!
I’m proud of you guys! Keep it up! It only gets easier. (Though I can’t say that I’m running 15 and 20 miles at a time like my loving wife…)
Love you guys man! THE DOOKSTERS may not win the Mud Run, but we’ll finish like bad asses!
TEAM DOOK!
